I feel like colostrum is one of the most talked about supplements of 2024. You really can’t go online or listen to a podcast without hearing about it and I get a ton of questions from clients and people in my community asking if it’s just another case of really good PR or if it’s actually worth the hype and lives up to all the benefits that it claims to have.
What is Colostrum?
If you’re a mom or you’re educated on pregnancy, birth, and postpartum then you probably already know what colostrum is. If you’re not, colostrum is the first milk that a human (and all mammals) produce at the end of pregnancy and shortly after birth.
It is the first food of all newborn humans and mammals. Commonly referred to as “liquid gold” because of being yellow in appearance, it is an incredibly nutrient-dense superfood that is meant to give a newborn everything it needs to thrive at the beginning of its life.
