I will never understand why we have allowed the responsibility of fertility and the burden of infertility to fall solely on women when men make up half of the equation. Studies show that 40% of infertility is the result of female factors, 40% is a result of male factors, and 20% of the time it is the result of a combination of both. So if men are making up 40% of infertility cases on their own then why are we not talking about male fertility just as much as female fertility?

Women are rarely given the opportunity to forget about their fertility or their “biological clocks” the pressure to reproduce by a certain age is overwhelming and the minute a woman enters into her 30’s she is told that her clock is ticking, but there is zero conversation around fertility rates declining at any age when it comes to men. Here’s the thing though, average sperm counts have declined by HALF over the past 50 years, and much more quickly in the past 20, and some experts are even saying that we are entering into a global crisis in regards to sperm count and quality, but yet there is still almost no conversation around mens fertility.
